BBB brother Greg Hamilton - from Ms Kitty - Sunday, March 15, 2015
Hi Gang,
I just received the message below from Ron Adams. Our beloved Greg Hamilton has passed.

We will be praying for Linda through this time. My memories of Greg is that he had a sweet spirit and loved to ballroom dance as well as sing with his guitar. He sent me a CD called the Ode to the Men of Bravo that he had written about his Bravo Brothers.. I just realized that his full name is James Gregory Hamilton. The celebration of life service is Sunday. See the obit below.

The address for Linda is 413 Madison Ave, Paintsville KY 41240.
I am sure that she will appreciate your condolences and prayers.
In Sadness,

Tribute to Mike from Donnie Garrett - Monday, January 27, 2014
Thank you Miss Kitty for sharing that news, especially to me, as Mike and I were the receiver's of the same grenade that day back in 68? Was given less time than he- but we both seem to have been favored by The Holy One. Was planning to visit him and Lynn later after Branson, but- guess that's on hold now? Can say that He was a very good man and always thought the world of him.(was my squad leader, also)

THANKS, again,

Mike Deskin (1968) - Monday, January 27, 2014
Carl ‘Mike’ Deskin
Obituary Transcript The Norman Transcript Wed Jan 22, 2014, 01:20 AM CST

NORMAN — Mike Deskin was a humble and generous man who passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014. He was a special person who made an impact on anyone he met.

Mike was critically injured in Vietnam while serving in the Army on Aug. 4, 1968. His injuries were so severe that his parents were told he probably wouldn’t live six months. He was a fighter. After an extended time in several hospitals, he was released to go home and was told he could expect to live five to six years.

He was a quadriplegic with limited hand use. He ended up getting a job with Gene McKown in 1971 and continued to work for Gene until his passing. He might have been in a wheelchair, but he never considered himself handicapped.

He was a dedicated coach who led winning teams in the city of Norman Little League Baseball program. He coached kids of all ages from T-ball through upper-aged teenage boys. He taught them more than baseball. He taught them important life lessons and respect. Thousands of kids and parents were touched by Mike’s amazing attitude and caring nature. He was a dedicated father, grandfather and friend.

Mike was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60 and the Purple Heart. He earned marksman (M14 rifle) and sharpshooter (M16 rifle).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Irene Deskin.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lynn Deskin of the home; three children, Chris Deskin and wife Cindy of Norman, Deana Roberts and husband Dewayne of Arkansas and Geana Wray and husband John of Virginia; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Wilson and Carla Deskin, both of Norman; and one uncle, Lester “Bear” Jensen and wife Hazel
